Three scientists from Columbia University in New York were fired when their research funding ran out. In response, they decided to start their own company called Ghostbusters. Soon, they landed their first client, Dana, who needed help getting rid of a ghost in her apartment near Central Park West. Her neighbors also seemed to be experiencing paranormal activity, so the Ghostbusters came fully equipped to take down the supernatural intruders.
After successfully ridding the building of the ghosts, the Ghostbusters' reputation spread throughout New York City, and they gained a loyal following. However, their success attracted the attention of the Environmental Protection Agency, who mistakenly arrested them for causing environmental hazards. But when a new, more powerful ghost threatened the city, the mayor had no choice but to release the Ghostbusters to save the day.
From that day on, the city of New York was safe from paranormal threats, thanks to the brave and resourceful Ghostbusters.
